At a glance

What ingredients are in Sugarreset?

Sugarreset contains chromium plus a proprietary blend of 22 plant extracts, amino acids and two other compounds. That makes 23 ingredients in each 1 ml serving.

The brand's own graphic puts six of them up front: chromium picolinate, gymnema, African mango, green tea, maca and Panax ginseng. The other 17 sit quietly in the same blend. All 22 blend items together weigh 200 mg per dropper.

Headline ingredients

What do the six headline ingredients do?

Each headline ingredient has been studied on its own, in amounts written into the research. None of those studies tested Sugarreset itself. The table sums up what each one is and what scientists measured.

Gymnema and maca

Gymnema and maca: two very different roots of the formula

Gymnema leaf

Gymnema sylvestre is a vine from India and Africa. Its name in Hindi roughly means "sugar destroyer," because chewing the leaf dulls sweet taste for a while.

In a 1990 study, 22 adults took 400 mg of a gymnema extract each day beside their usual diabetes medicine (Baskaran et al., 1990). The study had no placebo group. A 2021 review of 10 studies also compared people with their own starting numbers, not with a control group (Devangan et al., 2021).

Maca root

Maca grows high in the Andes and is eaten like a turnip. Research on it is small and centers on libido and sexual function (Shin et al., 2010). It has not been linked to liver injury (LiverTox, Maca). Its place in a metabolic formula is more about tradition than blood sugar data.

Green gymnema leaves beside a bowl of herbal powder
Gymnema is sold as dried leaf powder or extract. The 1990 study used 400 mg a day of an extract.
Maca powder next to whole maca roots
Maca root is dried and ground before extraction. Its studies measured sexual function, not glucose.

Ginseng, mango and tea

Panax ginseng, African mango and green tea in Sugarreset

Panax ginseng

Above-ground extract

A 16-trial review found a small drop in fasting glucose and no clear change in HbA1c (Shishtar et al., 2014). Most ginseng research uses the root. Sugarreset lists an "aerial" extract, taken from the stems and leaves.

African mango

A weight study seed

A 2009 trial gave 150 mg twice a day before meals for 10 weeks (Ngondi et al., 2009). It measured body weight, waist size and blood fats. Safety research on the seed is thin (NIH ODS, Weight loss).

Green tea

Catechins and caffeine

Pooled data from 17 trials showed small changes in fasting glucose and HbA1c (Liu et al., 2013). Concentrated green tea extracts have been tied to reports of liver injury (NCCIH, Green tea).

Fresh Panax ginseng roots on a wooden surface
Ginseng roots like these are the usual research material. Sugarreset's label names the above-ground parts instead.
African mango fruits hanging on an Irvingia gabonensis tree
African mango fruit on the tree. The extract comes from the seed inside, not the fruit flesh.
Fresh green tea leaves on the plant
Green tea leaves supply catechins and caffeine. The caffeine amount per dropper is not on the label.

The other 17

What are the other Sugarreset blend ingredients?

The remaining 17 items fill out the same 200 mg blend. They fall into four simple groups. None has a printed amount.

More plant extracts

Grape seed, guarana seed, Eleutherococcus senticosus (Siberian ginseng) root, astragalus root, Coleus forskohlii root, capsicum (chili pepper) fruit and grapefruit fruit.

Amino acids

L-glutamine, L-tyrosine, L-arginine base, beta-alanine, GABA, L-ornithine HCL, L-tryptophan and L-carnitine base. Your body also makes or eats most of these every day.

Raspberry ketones

A scent compound from red raspberries. It is popular in weight products, but human research is very limited (NIH ODS, Weight loss).

Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate

A salt of glycyrrhizin, the sweet compound in licorice root. Food makers also use it as a sweetener.

Plain facts

What the Sugarreset ingredient list does not tell you

Two limits worth knowing

First, the blend hides its amounts. Split evenly, 22 items in 200 mg would average about 9 mg each per dropper, but the real split is unknown. Second, the chromium dose is tiny. At 0.7 mcg, one dropper gives less than 1% of the 200 mcg low end used in studies (NIH ODS, 2022) (Suksomboon et al., 2014).

That does not make the formula unsafe or pointless. It means you cannot match Sugarreset to any study dose. The side-by-side numbers are on the Supplement Facts dose table.

Which Sugarreset ingredients need extra care?

Most people will not notice any of these items. A few matter if you take certain medicines.
